You’ll remember the big moments. The “I do”. The first dance. The toasts.
But it’s the small details that make your wedding album feel like you.
As a wedding planner in France, I build time into every timeline specifically for these details. Because in 10 years, you won’t care if the napkins were linen or cotton. You’ll care that you can see your grandmother’s ring on your hand.
Here are the 7 bridal details I tell every couple to prioritize for their photos in Paris.
1. The Ring
Before you put your dress on. On your vanity. On your mom’s hand.
That diamond deserves its own moment. Natural light from a window is best. I always ask the photographer to get this shot during hair + makeup.
Planner tip: Take your rings off the night before and give them to your maid of honor. Don’t leave them in the hotel safe.
2. The Shoes
You’ll only wear them for a few hours, but you’ll look at them forever.
Whether it’s heels on marble chateau floors or flats on Paris cobblestones, get a photo. The texture contrast looks beautiful.
3. The Purse or Clutch
This is one of my favorites.
A purse is something you’ll actually hold all day. It adds texture to portraits and tells a story.
I love when brides borrow something vintage. A beaded clutch from the 50s. A small bag from their mom. It makes the getting-ready photos feel timeless and very French.
4. The Perfume + Vows
Lay your perfume bottle next to your vows or love letters.
It’s such an intimate detail and it photographs beautifully flat-lay style. Plus, every time you smell that perfume after, you’ll think of your wedding day.
5. The Bouquet
Not just when you’re holding it.
Get a photo of it sitting alone on a table, in water, or hanging on a door. Bouquets are art and they wilt fast. Photograph them before the day gets busy.
6. The Jewelry
Earrings, bracelets, necklaces. The pieces you chose for a reason.
The gift that was given from the groom the morning of the wedding. Details like that are what make your story unique.
7. Something Sentimental
Your “something blue”. A note from your partner. Your dad’s watch. A rosary.
Pick 1-2 things that matter to you and tell your photographer. We’ll make sure they’re included in detail shots.
How To Make Sure You Get These Photos
The #1 reason brides miss detail photos? No time.
Your timeline needs a 15-minute “detail window” while you’re getting ready. That’s my job as your planner. I’ll gather everything the night before and have it ready for your photographer.
Your dress, flowers, and venue will be stunning. But these details are what make your gallery feel complete.
